E-Teacher Program
The 7 E-Teacher courses introduce the most recent English language teaching methods and techniques, offer the opportunity to engage in an innovative distance-learning program that employs the latest in modern technology, and provide direct access to U.S. experts. All participants must be nominated through American embassies or Regional English Language Offices.

Shaping the Way We Teach Online Course
This new online teacher training course is developed from the U.S. Department of State's Office of English Language Programs and the University of Oregon's American English Institute's 14 module Shaping the Way We Teach English video program. The series incorporates classroom scenes from around the world and is accompanied by a teacher trainer manual along with additional readings. Modules from Shaping form the basis for collaborative work with observations, interactions, discussions, and the creation of teaching plan projects.
Exploring Web 2.0: Tools for Classroom Teaching and Professional Development online course.
In this three-week course, Teachers will learn how to: articulate the origin and basic characteristics of Web 2.0 applications; observe a variety of uses of Web 2.0 tools in educational settings; gain a basic understanding of and participate in social bookmarking, tagging, blogging, podcasting and using wikis; engage in online, collaborative brainstorming on the topic of human rights; search Web directories for human rights resources and create a folksonomy of resources using social bookmarking and tagging techniques; participate in asynchronous forum discussions on a variety of course topics; subscribe via RSS to participants' blogs and other Web resources; communicate with the instructor and other course participants via chat and/or VoiP; investigate the use of social software for humanitarian purposes with a focus on microfinance; create materials for immediate use in the classroom or for professional development.
