Statement by American Ambassador R. Stephen Beecroft (April 18, 2009)
WASHINGTON, D.C. – It is with great pleasure that I welcome the visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II to the United States this coming week.
His Majesty will be the first Arab leader to be received by President Obama at the White House.
As we mark the sixtieth anniversary of diplomatic relations this year, His Majesty’s visit will demonstrate to Jordanians and Americans alike our enduring ties and the deep appreciation of the United States for the warm relations between our countries.
