The Boston Children’s Chorus Performs Live in Jordan

Amman – The U.S. Embassy in Amman is hosting the Boston Children’s Chorus for performances in Amman, Zarqa and Karak, July 2-7, as part of the celebration of 60 years of U.S.-Jordanian diplomatic and development ties. Founded in 2003, the Boston Children’s Chorus is an arts education organization that unites children ages 11 – 17 of different races, religions and economic status. The chorus has the unique mission of creating a world-class children’s chorus that also serves as a catalyst for community-building and social healing.
At the outset of its Jordan summer tour titled “This is the Sound of Harmony,” the Boston Children’s Chorus will perform at a closed session on Thursday, July 2 at the Queen Zein Al Sharaf Institute for Development (ZENID) for kids ages 10 – 15 from different areas in Amman, including some orphanage centers. On the same day, the chorus will also perform at the Children’s Museum in Amman. On Sunday, July 5 at 6:30 pm, the Boston Children’s Chorus will hold its main public performance at the King Abdullah II Cultural Center in Zarqa. This performance, which is sponsored locally by Farah Al Nas radio, is open to the public and admission is free.
The Boston Children’s Chorus will also perform at Al-Hassan Cultural Center in Karak on Tuesday, July 7 at 7:00 pm as part of this year’s Jordan Festival. The performance is open to the public and admission is free.
During their performances in Jordan, members of the Boston Children’s Chorus will entertain audiences with a harmonious collection of songs that embody the sound of the world, the sound of the classics, and the sound of tradition.
