Information Resource Center
The Information Resource Center is the research and reference service of the United States Embassy - Amman. It provides journalists, government officials and staff, academicians, and other Jordanians with up-to-date information on American politics, news and perspectives, government, society, history and culture. The Center's program consists of an extensive outreach and reference service. We hope to build dialogue and understanding through providing the latest and most authoritative information available.
The IRC conducts outreach and research utilizing a vast number of electronic resources and databases. Queries are accepted by telephone, e-mail, and fax.
In order to provide the quickest and most effective service, requests should include a clear, precise statement of what information is required. Within limitations, photocopies of specific articles or passages from reference materials can be supplied upon request.
Training/demonstration sessions about the internet and other electronic resources may be arranged for selected organizations upon request. We especially welcome requests from NGOs, the media, business organizations, government and university faculty.
