Warden Message
Subject: New Appointment System for American
Citizen Services
The US Embassy is pleased to announce a new appointment
system for routine consular services for Americans.
What is the new Appointment System?
The appointment system is a web
based application that allows Americans who need routine consular services to
schedule an appointment in advance. Americans with appointments will
spend less time at the Embassy, reducing wait time and providing more
predictable, efficient service for those who choose to take advantage of it.
What services are available by appointment?
Appointments are now available for
renewing a U.S. passport,
having pages added to a valid U.S.
passport, and reporting the birth of an American Citizen child.
Who should use the appointment system?
Any American who needs a passport
service or to report a birth may use the system.
How can I schedule an appointment?
Appointments can be made by using
the following link: ACS
Appointments. In addition, links to the appointment system are on the
U.S. Embassy website at http://jordan.usembassy.gov.
Can I still get help even if I don't have an appointment?
Yes. All services are
available on a walk-in basis without appointment on workdays Sunday-Thursday
between 12:30pm and 3:30pm. Americans without an appointment may
experience extended wait times.
How long will I wait if I schedule an appointment?
What if I don't make an appointment?
American citizens with an
appointment will be called to a consular window shortly after their appointment
time is reached and should expect to complete their service within 30-60
minutes. American Citizens without appointments will be served in the
order of their arrival at the embassy.
When are appointments available?
Appointments for passport services
are available on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons. Appointments
for American Citizen Birth Reports and first-time passports for children are
available on Monday and Wednesday afternoons.
What if I need a different service that's not mentioned
here?
Other services such as notaries,
authentications, and assistance with federal benefits are currently not
available by appointment. Americans in need of these services may walk-in
on any workday Sunday-Thursday between 12:30pm and 3:30pm.
Where can I get more information?
For questions or other inquiries,
please consult the U.S.
embassy website at http://jordan.usembassy.gov/ or
contact Amman-ACS@state.gov.
