Abu-Obaidah Hospital Renovated
Amman, January 21. Minister of Health Dr. Nayef Al-Fayez and U.S. Ambassador Stephen Beecroft inaugurated the recently-renovated Abu-Obaidah Hospital in Northern Aghwar. The renovation is part of the Health Systems Strengthening project, which is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

U.S. Embassy Co-Organizes a Workshop on Science & Technology Journalism
Amman, January 12. Under the patronage of H.R.H. Princess Sumaya Bint Al Hassan, a training workshop on “Science and Technology Journalism” concluded at Al Hassan Scientific City. This workshop was organized by the U.S. Embassy’s Regional Environmental Office and the Embassy’s Press Office in cooperation with the Royal Scientific Society.

New Group of Peace Corps Volunteers in Jordan Sworn In
December 23 - U.S. Ambassador in Amman Stephen Beecroft today attended the swearing-in ceremony of 39 Peace Corps Volunteers, a diverse group of men and women ranging in age from 21 to 68, who will be working for two years in a wide variety of projects throughout the Kingdom.

American Ambassador Honors Marriott International for Its Corporate Excellence
December 17 - American Ambassador Stephen Beecroft presented a special citation yesterday to Mr. Nadim Al Muasher, Chairman of the Arab International Hotels Company, to recognize Marriott in Jordan as a finalist for the prestigious U.S. Secretary of State’s 2009 Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE).
